Located in El Alcázar municipality, Tekoa Perutí is a 628-hectare Mbya Guaraní territory hosting 181 families. The area includes ~80 ha of certified organic yerba mate, limited primary forest, and extensive degraded forest. The community is a leader in agroforestry-based carbon initiatives in Argentina. In 2022, wildfires during a severe drought affected ~80 ha of forest.
