Where we are

A lower-level subnational REDD+Program

This lower-level subnational and REDD+ project is a good model of integration between local, subnational and national governments and a pilot initiative of the Argentina national REDD+ strategy, which was formed from the alliance between a local government, a private consulting firm a subnational NGO and producers. This initiative suggests a demonstrating and quantifying activity to estimate and measure the potential emission reductions, at Jurisdictional lower-level, generated from landscape restoration and avoided degradation. The QuantumD's pre facility assessments have identified, within the municipality, a total of 22.000 hectares where the prevention of planned degradation and the restoration activities could be implemented and would generate the availability of at least 1.895.000 C02tn between 2021-2028. These actions would clearly contribute to Argentina’s NDC targets.

Using REDD+ to protect and restore
the water courses.

During the last 5 years we have observed how the increase in temperature caused the smallest watercourses to dry up, directly affecting the productivity of local agriculture and livestock. With this initiative, geared to generate capacities on technical and good pipelines development, we aim to create the conditions for local producers to channel existing public and private resources to restore forests, creating additional job positions and reducing the REDD+ production cost related to the project technical development.
